Supporting Bend’s Children, One Step at a Time

Central Oregon winters can be chilly, and for some local children, it’s a challenge just to stay warm on the way to school. But thanks to Cascade Hasson Sotheby’s International Realty’s Ryan McGlone and his team at McGlone Property Group, kids in Bend are stepping into the season with warm, sturdy winter boots through the annual Bend Boot Drive. The initiative held in partnership with the Family Access Network (FAN), has been helping local children for the past seven years, making sure every child can enjoy winter safely and comfortably.

This year, the goal is to collect 100 pairs of boots—a mission Ryan and his team are passionate about reaching. “When kids have what they need to stay warm and safe, they feel more confident and ready to take on the world,” Ryan shares. “It’s not just about boots; it’s about showing our young community members that they’re valued and supported.”

With the community’s help, the Bend Boot Drive continues to make a difference. New or gently used boots can be donated at both Bend Shoe Co. locations, Webcyclery, Project Biker, or by making an online contribution. Donors can indicate “MPG” in the additional comments section of their donation, allowing Ryan’s team to purchase boots directly from local stores on behalf of supporters. Every pair of boots, every donation, is a step toward making a brighter winter for Bend’s youth.

About Ryan McGlone

For Ryan, real estate isn’t just about buying and selling homes; it’s about helping others find their place in this community he loves. His journey started in the outdoor industry, where he spent years building connections and learning the art of listening and understanding people’s needs, which eventually led him to real estate. Over the last decade, he has combined his love for the region with his commitment to making the real estate experience feel easy, meaningful and aligned with each client’s life goals.

Whether it’s a first meeting or a catch-up years after closing, Ryan sees every client relationship as a long-term partnership. He’s known for offering clear, honest advice and for staying focused on what truly matters to his clients—a seamless, enjoyable experience that’s more about them and their future than any single transaction.

When he’s not helping clients find their dream homes, you’ll find Ryan out on the trails, biking with the Boneyard Cycling Team or giving back through the Bend Bike Swap, which he founded to support local youth cycling. With his wife, Alanna, and kids, Wyatt and Grace, he’s usually out exploring everything Central Oregon has to offer, from mountain biking and skiing to just soaking up time in nature. For Ryan, being part of the Bend community isn’t just about where he lives; it’s about being invested in the future of this place and the people who love it.
